Watch: Jordan Clay announces college commitment

The start of July has been abuzz with recruiting activity, as dozens of high school football prospects have come off the board.

On Friday at noon p.m. PT/3 p.m. ET, Madison (Texas) four-star wide receiver Jordan Clay will join the ranks of the committed and announce his college decision

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound pass-catcher, rated the nation’s No. 85 overall prospect and No. 8 wide receiver, is down to a final three of Baylor, Colorado and Oklahoma.

Clay, a Navy All-American Bowl selection, took official visits to Colorado (June 6), Baylor (June 13) and Oklahoma (June 20).

But entering his decision, the Bears are believed to be the favorites.

And that would continue a sudden recruiting bump for the program.

Earlier this week, Baylor picked up a massive commitment from Temple (Texas) four-star defensive lineman Jamarion Carlton, who is flirting with five-star status as the nation’s No. 33 overall prospect.

Carlton and Clay would make up the highest-rated recruiting duo the Bears have landed since wide receivers KD Cannon (No. 42 overall) and Davion Hall (No. 56 overall) in 2014.

But the battle isn’t over just yet, as both Colorado and Oklahoma would love to pull off a small surprise and land the dynamic playmaker.

Over the past two seasons, Clay has accumulated 1,719 yards and 16 touchdowns while averaging more than 20 yards a reception.

As a big-bodied receiver with athleticism, the Texas product has a high ceiling and could develop into an NFL prospect should be put it all together.

Where will he spend the next few years?

We’ll all find out Friday.
