Wisconsin football’s recent string of recruiting misses continued on Monday evening.
After being included as one of four-star OT Kamari Blair’s finalists on May 16, the Badgers missed his latest trimmed final group. With the Badgers now out of the picture, Blair will choose between the Tennessee Volunteers, South Carolina Gamecocks and Mississippi Rebels on July 16 at 6:00 p.m. ET.
Blair becomes the fourth high-profile 2026 target to commit elsewhere since the beginning of June, joining cornerback Jamyan Theodore (Tennessee), Tony Forney Jr. (Missouri), safety Jowell Combay (Tennessee) and safety Nick Reddish (Notre Dame). As with Blair, the Badgers were considered finalists for all three recruits.
The 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive tackle officially visited Madison the weekend of May 30 before venturing to Tennessee, South Carolina and Ole Miss during the month of June. He initially received his offer from Luke Fickell’s program on May 7.
247Sports considers Blair the No. 290 overall recruit in the class of 2026, the No. 24 offensive tackle and the No. 9 player from his home state of Tennessee. He now secures his future with an SEC powerhouse.
Wisconsin’s class of 2026 ranks 51st nationally with 15 players committed. Pledges from blue-chip offensive playmakers Jayden Petit and Amari Latimer elevated that standing to as high as No. 37, but a lack of activity since June 28 has resulted in a significant slide.
The Badgers are now in major need of several top-end commitments to close the 2026 cycle. The program did finish within the top 25 in both 2024 and 2025 under Fickell, but it is currently on track for a finish outside of the top 50.
