Seth Littrell will coach alongside Josh Heupel in 2025. He joined Tennessee’s coaching staff as an offensive analyst ahead of spring practices.
Littrell played running back at Oklahoma (1997-2000) alongside Heupel. Heupel guided the Sooners to a BCS national championship in 2000 as Oklahoma’s starting quarterback.
Littrell brings head coaching experience to the Vols’ staff.
He served as head coach at North Texas from 2016-22, compiling a 44-44 record and appearing in five bowl games. Littrell was Oklahoma’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2024, the Sooners’ first season competing in the SEC.
At SEC media days on Tuesday, Heupel discussed adding his former teammate to Tennessee’s coaching staff in 2025.
“For Seth, somebody that I’ve played with, got great trust in,” he said. “He’s the kind of guy that’s going to be clear in his communication to me. His experience as a head coach is another tool that he brings to us. He’s had elite offenses with great players, done it at an extremely high level.
“His knowledge, expertise, his understanding of some of the things that we do offensively and the ability to bring some creative things that are maybe good additions to what we’re doing. Seth has been great for us since he got there in February, and we expect him to be a big part of what we’re doing.”
