Four-star athlete Joel Wyatt has transferred to Oakland High School for his senior year.Wyatt is the No. 2 player in Tennessee and No. 4 athlete nationally, holding offers from numerous SEC and power conference schools.

One of the state’s top football prospects has transferred to Oakland.

Joel Wyatt, a four-star athlete who previously played at The Webb School in Bell Buckle, enrolled at Oakland on July 16, Patriots coach Kevin Creasy confirmed to The Daily News Journal.

The 6-foor-4, 195-pound senior is rated by 247Sports Composite as the No. 2 player in Tennessee and the No. 4 athlete nationally.

He has a plethora of offers, including SEC schools Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Arkansas and Missouri. He also has offers from Oklahoma, Miami, Florida State, Michigan State, Penn State and Virginia Tech, among others.

He told The Tennessean in late June that he would choose between the Vols and Commodores. He had originally said he would commit on July 6, but announced on social media days earlier that he would be postponing the announcement.

Wyatt was one of the state’s top receivers last season, catching 49 passes for 907 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding a return TD. A versatile player on defense, he had 48 tackles (nine for loss) and two sacks.
