Jerquaden Guilford, four-star 2026 WR, commits to Ohio State football

Jerquaden Guilford, a four-star wide receiver from northern Indiana, made a verbal commitment to Ohio State on July 18, adding to the Buckeyes’ surplus of pass-catching talent in the class of 2026.

Guilford, who attends Northrop High School in Fort Wayne, had been scheduled to announce a decision three weeks ago before delaying his announcement. He picked the Buckeyes over Mississippi and also took an official visit to Michigan last month.

“Everybody lies, but stats don’t lie,” Guilford said during a live-streamed announcement. “They prove every year that they’re ‘Wide Receiver U.’ I’d love to be a part of it, and I am part of it.

Guilford is the No. 315 overall prospect and No. 50 wide receiver in his class, according to composite rankings from 247Sports.

Like other receivers who have committed to Ohio State in recent cycles, Guilford offers size. He lists himself as 6 feet 2 and 192 pounds on his Hudl profile.

Guilford is the Buckeyes’ fifth receiver commit for 2026, following Brock Boyd, Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, Chris Henry Jr. and Jaeden Ricketts. Henry is the highest-ranked of the bunch as a five-star.

The Buckeyes’ track record of receiver development has kept them as a magnet for players at the position. Emeka Egbuka was the fifth receiver in four years to be taken in the first round of the NFL draft last April.

All of them have been coached by offensive coordinator Brian Hartline, who has been the wide receivers coach since 2018.

“They’ve seen the greats,” Guilford said, and they are the greats themselves. They’ll get me to the place I want to be.”
