The Oregon Ducks got some major recruiting news earlier this week when 4-star EDGE Prince Tavizon announced that he would be reclassifying from the 2027 class to the 2026 class, moving up his timeline and inching closer to his ultimate signing with Oregon.
Tavizon, originally a soon-to-be high school junior, but now a soon-to-be high school senior, saw a ratings update with his reclassification. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound edge rusher was rated as the No. 76 player in the 2027 class, per 247Sports, but he dropped to No. 226 in the nation and the No. 22 EDGE after the reclassification.
However, Oregon’s 2026 class made a notable jump in the national recruiting rankings with the addition of Tavizon. Before the reclassification, they had the No. 12 class in the nation, but with this change, they moved up to No. 9, surpassing the Miami Hurricanes and Michigan Wolverines.
Holding onto Tavizon over the next several months will be crucial for the Ducks, as he plans to take a few visits this fall to ensure he wants to end up at Oregon.
Despite Tavizon’s reclassification, Oregon is still after additional talent at the EDGE in the 2026 class, mainly targeting 5-star Anthony ‘Tank’ Jones, who is expected to announce his commitment between the Ducks, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Texas A&M Aggies over the next few weeks.
