ESPN recently ranked the top 25 football recruits regardless of class. These ranged from commits in the class of 2026 to prospects from the class of 2027. Unsurprisingly, Georgia had one player on the list: quarterback Jared Curtis. Curtis was ranked No. 8 overall by ESPN. However, he is ranked as the No. 2 quarterback in the country.
Curtis is a five-star quarterback on every recruiting website. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound quarterback has great size and speed. He has the moxie to become a great quarterback, showing his confidence by joining a program that already has several young quarterbacks. ESPN has him ranked as the No. 6 overall prospect on their ESPN300 rankings, but Curtis fell from the No. 1 to No. 4 quarterback in 2026 on 247Sports website.
That is because of five-star quarterback and Texas commit Dia Bell. Bell ranks as the No. 1 quarterback and No. 5 player on ESPN’s list. He is also ranked at No. 3 on 247Sports rankings, behind Keisean Henderson (Houston commit) and Faizon Brandon (Tennessee commit).
However, Curtis still lands at No. 1 when looking at 247Sports composite rankings. That combines the rankings from 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals. Therefore, Curtis is still the top ranked quarterback in the country.
Georgia has been bitten by Texas recently. The Bulldogs lost five-star linebacker recruit Tyler Atkinson to Texas on July 15. On the same day, former five-star defensive line commit James Johnson flipped to Texas as well.
