According to a social media post Thursday night, one of the Alabama Crimson Tide’s top 2026 football commits has officially shut down their recruitment.
That prospect is highly-touted linebacker Xavier Griffin, who made the announcement Thursday night via a post on social media.
A prospect who committed to Alabama back in June, Griffin is currently considered as the nation’s No. 17 prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings, as well as the No. 2 linebacker nationally. Griffin is also considered as a five-star prospect, as well as the No. 2 player in the state of Georgia, attending Gainesville High School.
Alabama’s 2026 recruiting class currently ranks No. 5 nationally, per 247Sports, holding 20 total commitments.
