By now, you probably know that ESPN’s College GameDay will be at the Ohio State season opener against the Texas Longhorns. You have probably also heard that this will be Lee Corso’s final appearance on the show. ESPN wants to make the day as memorable as possible and is inviting fans to join in.
An entire generation of college football fans knows nothing other than Saturday mornings with Corso. His quirky insights, sprinkled with a “Not so fast, my friend,” and the always anticipated headgear pick kept fans tuning in week after week. Corso has been a staple of the college football landscape for nearly four decades, and as he prepares to ride off into the sunset, ESPN is inviting you to send a special message to the “Sunshine Scooter.”
“As we get ready to celebrate Lee Corso’s final show on College GameDay, here is your chance to share a personal message to Coach.” Fans are encouraged to submit a personal video message from now until August 15 at a special Lee Corso Fan Tribute page.
Lee Corso has been one of the biggest ambassadors of college football in the history of the sport. He has always loved the fans, saying “… And lest I forget, the fans… truly a blessing to share this with them. ESPN gave me this wonderful opportunity and provided me the support to ensure success. I am genuinely grateful.”
Fans are encouraged to wear their team’s logo and colors as they record their tribute to Coach Corso. Have fun with it, Buckeye Nation. You may just find yourself featured on GameDay come August 30.
