Washington has the potential to be an X-factor in the new-look Big Ten. Head coach Jedd Fisch and his staff are recruiting like it so far in the 2026 cycle.
As of July 29, the Huskies have landed 21 commitments, forming a class that currently ranks No. 18 nationally, according to the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. That’s good for No. 6 in the Big Ten, too, checking in ahead of the likes of UCLA, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State and Nebraska.
The summer has treated UW well on the trail, but it was a big-time flip in April that really got the ball rolling. Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive tackle Kodi Greene has ties to the Evergreen State, and on April 24, he flipped his pledge from Oregon to the Huskies.
Greene is the No. 19 recruit in the updated Rivals300 and will be in the mix to finish as a five-star prospect this winter. He’s one of eight blue-chippers in the class to date.
This month, Santa Clarita (Calif.) Valencia four-star running back Brian Bonner, the nation’s No. 5 RB, joined the fold and now sits behind Greene at the top of the class. The Golden State has also brought UW a commitment from Mission Viejo four-star cornerback Jeron Jones.
The No. 1 player in Washington is in the class, too. Seattle Kennedy Catholic four-star EDGE Derek Colman-Brusa announced a surprise pledge on May 4. On the other side of the country, Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic Derek Zammit is set to make the move to the West Coast next season. Zammit is the No. 21 signal-caller in the Rivals300.
