4-star linebacker Anthony Davis commits to Ole Miss football

Why Ole Miss, Texas A&M are dark-horse SEC title contenders

USA TODAY’s Blake Toppmeyer and the Southwest Times Record’s Jackson Fuller break down dark-horse SEC title teams on Before The Snap.

Ole Miss football and coach Lane Kiffin landed a commitment from a 2026 four-star linebacker on Aug. 2.

Anthony Davis chose the Rebels over Alabama, Michigan and Auburn. The Grayson High School product in Loganville, Georgia, is the No. 432-ranked player nationally and No. 30 linebacker, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Davis, who also had offers from Texas, USC, Clemson and Florida, among others, is the 16th commit for Ole Miss’ 2026 recruiting class. He’s the second linebacker commit of the cycle, alongside four-star Izayia Williams.

“It was just the coaching,” Davis said at his commitment announcement. “Everybody around, they just made me feel like family and the plan they got me for me as a player is just so good. I just felt like it was the right spot. Felt like home.”

Davis took official visits to each of his finalists – Alabama, Michigan and Auburn – over the summer. He visited the Rebels on June 6, before visiting Michigan on June 13 and Alabama on June 20.
