Iowa football welcomes special guest to fall camp practice

In a special moment during Saturday’s fall camp session in Iowa City, head coach Kirk Ferentz and the Iowa football team welcomed a special guest to the field to help the team close out the scrimmage.

Through a video shared by the program’s various social media accounts, the Hawkeyes welcomed a passionate Iowa fan to join the team’s practice through the Make-A-Wish initiative, where members of the team provided uplifting messages and support.

Following the practice, the team took the fan to Kinnick Stadium, where he was able to throw a touchdown pass, punt a football, and make a field goal on the storied Iowa field.

As many other college football teams and professional sports franchises offer similar kinds of experiences to those affected by various ailments, the Iowa football program hopes that the memories and motivation given to Jeremy will allow him the confidence to conquer any challenges that come his way.

As for the Hawkeyes’ upcoming season, Iowa will begin its 2025-26 campaign on August 30 from Kinnick Stadium at 5 p.m. CT, when it clashes vs. FCS-level Albany. The opening game will be broadcast on FS1.
