While Notre Dame football has had plenty of success on the recruiting trail, you can’t win them all and that happened on Sunday with 2027 North Carolina running back Amir Brown.
The Irish offered during its “Pot of Gold Day” in March and he took an unofficial visit the next month. Unfortunately, the allure to stay home and play for legendary head coach Bill Belichick got him to commit to the Tar Heels.
While this is a recruiting miss for Notre Dame, the targets they have in the 2027 class at running back have seen only two of them currently committed, as the Irish are currently trying to flip Kemon Spell away from Penn State. If they are able to do just that, missing out on Brown won’t be seen as such a big loss, as Spell is a 5-star prospect.
There is no doubt in my mind that Notre Dame will land of of its top running back targets in the 2027 cycle, unfortunately it won’t be Brown.
