Clemson football lands three on first team ESPN All-America list

ESPN unveiled its 2025 college football All-America team Monday. The Clemson Tigers tied the Alabama Crimson Tide for the most first-team selections with three apiece.

Cade Klubnik was named first team quarterback over LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier, while Peter Woods was named first team defensive tackle over Georgia’s Christen Miller. T.J. Parker was named first team defensive end over Auburn’s Keldric Faulk.

Clemson had two second-team selections, as well: wide receiver Antonio Williams and cornerback Avieon Terrell. Tennessee’s Jermod McCoy and Notre Dame’s Leonard Moore were named first-team selections at cornerback with Alabama’s Ryan Williams and Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith first-team wide receivers.

Veteran ESPN college football writer Chris Low, who authored the list, acknowledged that Klubnik was one of the most improved players in the country last season and added:

Klubnik did rush for 463 yards and seven touchdowns a year ago, including a game-winning 50-yard scramble at Pittsburgh in the Tigers’ 24-20 come-from-behind victory late in the fourth quarter last November.

Klubnik been named to the preseason watch lists for the Maxwell Award and Davey O’Brien Award.

Low said of Woods:

“Woods has said he wants to be more consistent this season, and to that end, he has been diligent this offseason about getting in tip-top shape as he enters his third year on campus. The 6-3, 315-pound Woods has elite interior pass-rushing…
