LSU football isn’t giving up on the No. 1-ranked quarterback in the class of 2026. Per Rivals’ Marcus Benjamin, LSU is still making its case to Texas commit Dia Bell.
“They’ve always been there,” Bell said of LSU.
“I’ve always had a great relationship with Coach Sloan. He’s still chipping away, trying to get me to come out, but I have not made any plans to visit LSU at this point,” Bell said.
According to the Rivals’ Industry Rankings, Bell is the No. 4-ranked player in the country and No. 1-ranked quarterback. He’s the top recruit in the state of Florida. Bell committed to Texas in June of 2024, and that pledge has held firm. The odds are stacked against the Tigers on this one, but Brian Kelly, Sloan, and staff aren’t ready to throw in the towel.
LSU is without a quarterback in its 2026 class after missing on top targets, including Bowe Bentley and Bryson Beaver.
According to 247Sports, LSU’s 2026 class ranks No. 8 in the country. LSU has secured commitments from two five-stars, wide receiver Tristen Keys and defensive tackle Lamar Brown, but the addition of Bell could launch LSU’s class to another level. The Tigers remain in contention for the No. 1-ranked class in the country.
