Top college football prospects in Illinois

Dunlap senior Mack Sutter announced his college football decision this offseason, choosing Alabama over nearly three dozen of the nation’s biggest programs.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound member of the Class of 2026 enters his final high school football season focused on finishing out his career with on-field success.

But how does Sutter stack up statewide? Let’s take a look.

Sutter is a four-star recruit ranked No. 4 statewide overall and No. 1 for incoming seniors, according to the composite ranking by the recruiting website On3.com. He is No. 98 overall nationally.

There are no five-star college football recruits in Illinois, according to On3.com, and 21 four-star recruits across the classes of 2026 and 2027. Here is a look at each, including their position, school and college commitments:

1. Myson Johnson-Cook, ATH, East St. Louis

The 6-2, 220-pound junior is No. 1 in the Class of 2027. He is uncommitted with nearly 50 offers, with On.3 predicting Illinois, Iowa and Ohio State among his most likely landing spots.

2. Brock Williams, TE, Libertyville

The 6-5, 210-pound junior is No. 2 in the Class of 2027. He is uncommitted with nearly 40 offers, with On.3 predicting Ohio State and Michigan State among his most likely landing spots.

3. Quentin Burrell, WR, Chicago Mount Carmel

The 6-3, 185-pound junior is No. 3 in the Class of 2027. He is uncommitted with 30-plus offers, with On.3 predicting Notre Dame as his most likely landing spot.

4. Mack Sutter, TE, Dunlap

The 6-5, 225-pound senior is No. 1 in the Class of 2026. He committed to Alabama.

5. Jonas Williams, QB, Frankfort Lincoln-Way East

The 6-1, 200-pound senior is No. 2 in the Class of 2026. He committed to USC.
