2025 Tulare County Cream of the Crop Preseason Power Football Rankings
Who is the Visalia Times-Delta’s top-ranked high school team in Tulare County in the preseason?
Israel Briggs will be in a different high school football uniform this season.
Briggs, who spent this past spring semester at Redwood after transferring from Mt. Whitney, has transferred to Clovis and will play football for the Cougars.
Clovis will be Briggs’ third school in less than a calendar year.
KMPH FOX26 reporter Gabe Camarillo reported that Briggs had his first full-padded practice with the Cougars on Thursday morning, Aug. 14.
Briggs is rated as a four-star prospect by the recruiting website 247sports.com and is ranked as the sixth-best tight end in the nation. He has verbally committed to the University of Miami.
Briggs played football at Mt. Whitney as a freshman, sophomore and junior before transferring to Redwood last December. He was a member of the Rangers’ basketball team and spent the summer practicing with the Redwood football team, helping the Rangers win the Roger Kelly Redwood Passing Tournament championship.
The future Hurricane will be back in Visalia soon, though.
Clovis opens the 2025 season at Central Valley Christian on Aug. 22 for a non-league game at Cavalier Stadium. The Cougars have one of the state’s top quarterbacks this season in senior and Oregon State commit Deagan Rose.
