The Georgia Bulldogs football have the No. 1 recruiting class in the 2026 cycle and are building a foundation for their 2027 class. Georgia has two commitments already in four-star corner Donte Wright (Long Beach Poly) and three-star wide receiver Gavin Honore (Mater Dei). The No. 4 ranked safety in the nation, Kamarui Dorsey (Hampton, Georgia), has been hearing a lot from Georgia.
“Georgia is on me the hardest right now,” Dorsey told Rivals (subscription needed). “Coach Kirby Smart and all the coaches check in regularly, sending clips from practice. My relationship with coachT-Rob (Travaris Robinson) is really strong.”
Georgia is known to make sure that their in-state talent stays home. The highly touted recruit also said that could go in the Bulldogs’ favor.
“The biggest thing for me is NFL development and playing for coaches who push me every day,” he said. “My goal is to get to the NFL, and I want to be in a program that helps me get there.”
Georgia currently has 11 defensive backs on NFL rosters. Recently Malaki Starks went in the first round (27th pick) to the Baltimore Ravens. Now, star sophomore safety KJ Bolden looks to be another NFL draft pick and possibly a first rounder. Georgia will give a lot for the in-state recruit to think about.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound safety plays high school football for Hampton High School in Georgia. He is the No. 35 recruit in the nation and the No. 4 prospect in Georgia in the class of 2027, per Rivals. Interestingly, 247Sports considers Dorsey to be more of a linebacker recruit.
