Michigan’s NCAA sanctions, 28-team CFP proposal and SMU’s Lashlee blasts ‘rigged’ FPI adjustment

On Thursday’s episode, we made our predictions for Michigan’s impending sanctions coming out of the Conor Stallions saga. On Friday, the verdict came in. Ross Dellenger may now also be called Nostradamus because he was spot on with his predictions. Over $30-million in fines and a three-game suspension for head coach Sherrone Moore were the main highlights from the ruling. Andy Staples and Steven Godfrey join Ross in recapping the reaction to the ruling and discussing where Michigan goes from here.

Expanding the College Football Playoff has been a talking point since the format’s inception. It has grown from four to twelve teams, but that does not seem to be enough to some in college football. While sixteen seems to be a natural progression, a much larger number was suggested recently. Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti threw out the idea of a 28-team playoff and sent the college football world into an uproar. Was this suggestion just a ruse for a more preferable plan? Why was this the only playoff idea that was reported on? How realistic is a 28-team playoff?
