Former Vol Al Wilson to serve as honorary captain for Tennessee

Week 1 of the college football season will feature No. 18 Tennessee versus Syracuse in the Aflac Kickoff Game. Rankings reflect the US LBM Coaches Poll.

The Vols and Orange will open their seasons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Kickoff is slated for noon EDT and will be televised by ABC.

Former Tennessee linebacker and national champion Al Wilson will serve as a honorary captain for the game. Former Syracuse linebacker Keith Bulluck will also serve as a honorary captain for the Orange.

“Officials today announced that Keith Bulluck and Al Wilson will serve as honorary captains for their respective alma maters at the 2025 Aflac Kickoff Game between Syracuse and No. 18 Tennessee,” the Aflac Kickoff Game announced Thursday. “The honorary captains will join the team captains at midfield for the pregame coin toss prior to the noon EDT kickoff on Aug. 30 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.”
