What’s a 10-year show-cause order — restricting him from all athletically related activities in college football beginning Aug. 7, 2028, at the conclusion of his four-year show-cause order from a previous case on recruiting violations — matter to Harbaugh?
He’s the coach of the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers.
But there is precedent for the NFL to legislate punishment for a coach fleeing college football’s wrath.
Harbaugh’s old enemy, Urban Meyer, pointed that out this week and recalled his own situation at Ohio State with a postseason ban.
In Meyer’s first year at OSU in 2012, his team was in its second year of a postseason ban from a previous violation, keeping the 12-0 Buckeyes out of the Big Ten championship game and BCS Championship.
