It’s Week 1 of the Ohio high school football regular season, and Shedeur Sanders didn’t want to miss out.
The Cleveland Browns’ rookie quarterback out of Colorado pulled up to a sideline in northeast Ohio on Thursday night.
Sanders stepped out with Greg Newsome and Dylan Sampson to take in the Avon vs. St. Ignatius game.
Ignatius is one of the all-time great programs in Ohio, while Avon has turned into one of the best teams in the state in recent times.
It ended up being a one-sided clash, won 40-14 by Avon.

Sanders has a big weekend ahead, now back from injury and expected to play in the preseason finale as the third quarterback behind Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel. This will be Sanders’ last chance to leapfrog his fellow rookie Gabriel on the opening depth chart.
He got himself prepared by watching some quality high school football on a Thursday night. Not a bad idea, because there’s very little better in Ohio than a high school football game under the lights.
