Will Deion Sanders and Colorado face setbacks to start 2025 season?

Deion Sanders has been away from the Colorado Buffaloes Football program for a majority of the offseason dealing with cancer treatments. With that said, the question remains one week before the start of the 2025 season is will the Buffs be ready to compete this upcoming football season?

Colorado has landed some great recruits that could play significant roles in their success. However, new talent being mixed with the current playmakers, and not having your traditional ones for the first time ever could be a red flag to open up. Coach Prime was able to land some athletes that can add depth, but this offseason was on the assistant coaches. Will Sanders face a smooth hand off in responsibility in non-conference or will there be setbacks? 

The Buffs wide receiver room landed a few more playmakers to go along with Omarion and Drelon Miller. Joseph WIlliams from Tulsa and Sincere Brown from Campbell will be nice additions. Brown has made big claims that he is going to put on a show this season like Randy Moss did when he was playing football at Marshall. On the other hand, Williams, who was a former quarterback in high school, will be able to find the openings within a defensive coverage to receive passes from quarterbacks Kaiden Salter or Julian Lewis.

Colorado will run a balanced offense that will feature a rushing attack without Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Shedeur Sanders. The Buffs landed Simeon Price from Mississippi State and Dekalon Taylor from Incarnate Word, who will be able to keep things balanced for the Buffs offense. They’ll be in the rotation with Micah Welch and Dallan Hayden for Hall-of-Famer turned coach Marshall Faulk.
