Chip Lindsey sees improved Michigan WRs for 2025 season

When it comes to the Michigan football defense, there are very few questions entering the 2025 season. Offensively, however, it’s a much different story.

Nothing, really, worked well last season. The offensive line wasn’t up to par, the run game left a bit to be desired; the pass game was the worst culprit, as it was a historically bad aspect of the Wolverines’ offense a year ago. But with a new coordinator in Chip Lindsey and a new quarterback in Bryce Underwood, there are high expectations for the Michigan offense to rebound from a moribund season.

While all eyes are on the quarterback, there needs to be better play from the pass catchers. And, according to Lindsey (appearing on Big Ten Network), there is a lot of improvement from when he arrived.

“Donaven McCulley has been a huge shot in the arm for us,” Lindsey said. “He’s a guy that gives us an ability to make plays down the field. But that whole room’s growing — I think Ron Bellamy’s done a great job bringing in some young players that have added some depth, which we needed tremendously. Semaj Morgan’s had a really good training camp. Fred Moore’s had a good training camp — I mean, the guys that have been here. 

“But I think now we’ve got a deeper room. And with that comes competition. And when you have competition, I think it makes everybody better.”

One of the hopes is that the aforementioned players will step up, but fans are also excited about the prospects of the true freshman trio — Andrew Marsh, Jamar Browder, and Jacob Washington.

Marsh and Browder arrived in December and participated in bowl prep. Washington was a late arrival, coming in the summer. The highest rated of the trio, Marsh, has a ton of upside, but Browder could figure in as a backup to McCulley at the X position.
