LA Times writer predicts USC football will lose to UCLA Bruins

It was a disappointing season for the USC Trojans last year. They went 7-5 in their debut journey in the Big Ten. They did not meet the standards of Trojan football by any means. It was an even more disappointing debut season for the UCLA Bruins, who went 5-7 last season. One of their seven losses was to the Trojans.

Last season the Trojans were competitive in every single game. The same case can not be made for the Bruins; they lost four of their first five games by double-digit margins. The 2025 goal for the Bruins is to make a bowl game; expectations for the Trojans are a lot higher.

The Trojans come into this season having improved in many areas. It is safe to assume the Trojans should handle business against their former Pac-12 foe, but one Los Angeles Times writer thinks the Bruins will pull off the upset.

In his game by game predictions for the UCLA Bruins’ 2025 season LA Times writer Ben Bolch predicts the Bruins will beat the Trojans. Here are his thoughts on the matchup in November:

Here’s betting that Iamaleava is the best quarterback on the field and the Bruins revive calls for Riley’s dismissal with more rivalry road revelry.”

There is always a chance for an upset. In rivalry games, we see a couple big-time upsets every college football season. However, this Trojan team cannot afford to lose to UCLA if it wants to make the College Football Playoff. This USC offense has the talent to put up points versus lesser teams. It has the defense to keep…
