Lamar Best

St. Joseph (Montvale) senior quarterback

Best leads what could be New Jersey’s best big-play offense. The 6-foot, 185-pounder needs to stay healthy after missing several games last season with an injured collarbone. The dual-threat still threw for 1,149 yards and 13 TDs, and rushed for 399 yards and seven scores last season for the Green Knights (6-5). He’s committed to Delaware.

Jalen Parker

Winslow junior quarterback

Parker established a program-record 2,917 passing yards and helped lead the Eagles to the Group 4 state title last season. The QB is 19-2 in 21 career games with Eagles, including a 14-0 run in 2024. Parker has thrown for 4,427 yards and 64 touchdowns in two seasons, putting him on pace to break the state TD passing record held by Timber Creek’s Devin Leary since 2017.

Derek Zammit

DePaul senior quarterback

Zammit is a four-year starter who last season led the Spartans (11-1) to their second Non-Public B state title in three years and earned first-team All-New Jersey honors. The 6-1, 195-pounder is a pocket passer who can run when needed and last season threw for a North Jersey-best 2,582 yards and 34 TDs. He’s committed to Washington.

Andrew Avent

Rahway senior running back

Avent shined as one of the best two-way players in the Big Central Conference last season, helping Rahway finish 7-3 after going 3-7 in 2023. He rushed for 1,412 yards and 16 touchdowns on 194 carries, and added 102 tackles (50 solo, 17 TFL) at linebacker.
