Five-star 2026 athlete includes LSU football in list of finalists

One of college football’s top 2026 recruits released his top 12, and LSU made the cut. Five-star athlete Brandon Harrington included LSU in his top 12 along with Alabama, Penn State, Michigan, Texas A&M, USC, Florida State, UCLA, Georgia, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Nebraska.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Arrington is the top-ranked athlete in the class. He’s the No. 8 overall recruit and ranks No. 2 in the state of California. Three of the four major recruiting services slot Arrington as the top athlete. 247Sports is the lone outlier, putting Arrington as the No. 2 athlete.

Arrington is still relatively new to football. He’s a raw prospect, and its not clear if he projects as a wide receiver or cornerback at the next level.

Its rare for LSU to land recruits out west, so the Tigers may be facing an uphill battle, especially with USC and other Big Ten teams in the fold.

LSU’s 2026 recruiting class ranks No. 7 in the country. The Tigers have five total commits but are yet to add a five-star to the fold. Four of the five commits rank as four-stars, per the On3 Industry Rankings.
