Kent State Golden Flashes football schedule features dates with three Power 4 schools

In most games in the 2024 season the Kent State Golden Flashes were not a competitive football team. That led them to a winless season. From that perspective, there’s only one way to go for Kent – up.

That’s the message head coach Kenni Burns delivered with the release of the team’s 2025 schedule, which includes matchups with powerhouses Texas Tech, Florida State and Oklahoma. At least some of those non-conference game checks will be significant. Here’s who else on Kent State’s football schedule:

Aug. 30 vs. Merrimack

Sept. 6 at Texas Tech

Sept. 13 vs. Buffalo

Sept. 20 at Florida State

Oct. 4 at Oklahoma

Oct. 11 vs. Massachusetts

Oct. 18 at Toledo

Oct. 25 vs. Bowling Green

Nov. 5 at Ball State

Nov. 11 at Akron

Nov. 19 vs. Central Michigan

Nov. 28 at Northern Illinois
