The anticipation and excitement within the Iowa Hawkeyes and their fanbase are palpable as they await transfer quarterback Mark Gronowski’s arrival on the field.
He underwent offseason surgery that will keep him sidelined throughout spring ball, but will still see him in meetings and learning a new offense under offensive coordinator Tim Lester. As a two-time FCS national champion, learning the new offense may be the biggest hurdle for Gronowski if all else goes according to plan.
Despite the surgery, it has not stopped CBS Sports from putting Mark Gronowski as one of their top transfers in college football who will be in the spotlight this spring.

Iowa finally got a quarterback! Gronowski is a legitimate NFL prospect after winning multiple national championships and the Walter Payton Award over the last few seasons.
So how much better can he make the Iowa offense? That’s what we’ll begin to find out this spring. The Hawkeyes had fewer passing attempts (260) than any other Power Four team last season. In fact, the Hawkeyes were one of two Power Four programs (Houston) with fewer than 304 attempts last year.

Last year saw the Hawkeyes rely on the ground game behind a revamped offensive line and a breakout year from future NFL running back Kaleb Johnson. Iowa will see a flurry of new faces ready to break out this year on offense, and Gronowski could be the key that unlocks this offense even further.
