How KenPom ranks Alabama after ranked home loss vs. Florida

Wednesday night in Tuscaloosa, two of college basketball’s premier teams faced off in a Top 10 matchup inside of Coleman Coliseum when the Alabama Crimson Tide hosted the Florida Gators for SEC action.

In the game, Florida eventually came away with the big victory in Tuscaloosa, topping the Crimson Tide by a final score of 99-94 in a game where the Gators had a sizable lead for a majority of the second half.

As a result, Alabama now owns a 23-7 overall record for the season as well, along with a 12-5 mark in SEC play, entering the final game of the regular season. However, how does Alabama’s standing according to KenPom now look after this loss?

Alabama currently ranks as the nation’s No. 6 team according to KenPom, while also the No. 3 team nationally in offensive efficiency. The Crimson Tide also currently sit No. 39 nationally in defensive efficiency after the loss.

After the loss to Florida on Wednesday night, Alabama now has only one game remaining on their regular season schedule, which is set to take place this upcoming Saturday on the road at Auburn. The Tigers, who are the SEC regular season champions, are currently ranked as the nation’s No. 2 team according to KenPom, as well as No. 1 and No. 14 in offensive and defensive efficiency, respectively.
