The last time we heard from Ohio State football head coach Ryan Day, he and the team were basking in the glow of the program’s ninth national championship after the win over Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
Since then, there’s been some coaching turnover and offseason news. Both offensive coordinator Chip Kelly and defensive coordinator, Jim Knowles, left the program, with Matt Patricia being the resulting hire on the defensive end, and some promotions being the name of the game on the offensive side.
So, we’ve been chomping at the bit to hear from Day on what went into those staffing decisions, and we finally got a chance to hear from him during a coaches’ press conference held at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center on Friday. In case you missed any of what the head coach said and what went into the promotions and hirings, you can check it all out thanks to the Lettermen Row YouTube Channel.
Spring ball is just around the corner and we’ll be on top of it and any further offseason news as it becomes available, including more from the head coach when it comes up.
