Pace’s four-star OL Grant Wise commits to Clemson University after weekend visit

One of the top offensive linemen in the country made his college commitment on Sunday.

Pace’s Grant Wise, a four-star recruit across a few major recruiting databases who stands at 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, has committed to Clemson. He posted the decision on Sunday on social media in a video, telling coaches at the Tigers during a visit over the weekend.

“Something told me to grab this from the house before I came up here,” Wise said to head coach Dabo Swinney, who was initially out of the frame. “And I think it’s because I want to be a Clemson Tiger.”

Swinney immediately entered the picture and gave Wise a huge hug. Another coach also came in with a giant hug.

“Made the best decision of my life last night,” Wise said on X, formerly Twitter. “I’m ALL IN with the Clemton Tigers!!”

Wise chose Clemson over dozens of other Division I offers, which he narrowed down to a Top 12 in the middle of December. His final 12 included Clemson, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Alabama, Miami, Oregon, Penn State, Georgia Tech, Florida, Texas A&M and Ohio State.

Wise has been one of the area’s top linemen since he entered the field at Pace. Just last year alone, Wise recorded 128 pancake blocks, according to MaxPreps, and allowed no sacks or quarterback hurries on the year. The Patriots advanced to the Region 1-6A semifinals last year with a 10-2 record, ultimately falling on the road at Buchholz.

The team ran for 2,759 yards and 45 touchdowns, along with 1,081 yards passing and 14 touchdowns as a primarily run-heavy team.

According to 247Sports, Wise one of three interior offensive lineman to commit to Clemson from the class of 2026. There are currently eight offensive lineman on the roster at Clemson, as well.
