It has been quite a recruiting week for one of Notre Dame football biggest rivals, the USC Trojans.
The new Big Ten team and the Irish have battled historically for prospects, and unfortunately, it looks like the victory went to the opposition with two an Irish legacy, wide receiver Trent Mosley. The 5-foot, 11-inch and 170-pounder committed to USC on Tuesday, and while its a loss, it was the way that it happened that should rub Notre Dame the wrong way.
Remember that former GM Chad Bowden deflected from the Irish to the Trojans following the conclusion of the season, and he hasn’t forgotten where he once was. In Mosley’s commitment celebration social media post, USC showed only highlights against Notre Dame, jabbing at the rival.
While it hasn’t meant much on the field over the last few years, the Irish have won 6 of 7 matchups since 2017, and still hold the all-time record at 50-37-5, it’s never great to be on the receiving end of a troll job.
Hopefully, the Irish get back at the on the field when they face off against each other on Oct. 18 in Los Angeles.
USC really used nothing but highlights from games against Notre Dame to celebrate the commitment of a Notre Dame legacy recruit, Trent Mosley.
