BATON ROUGE — As LSU football opens up spring football practice, there are a few big names sidelined for the Tigers.
Linebackers Harold Perkins Jr. and Whit Weeks, along with senior defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory, suffered season-ending injuries last season and they won’t participate in spring drills this spring for the Tigers.
Following LSU’s third practice of the spring Wednesday, LSU coach Brian Kelly provided updates to the three defensive starters’ statuses.
“Weeks and Perkins, they’re both moving around and very active in our progression of their rehab,” Kelly said. “They’re both going to be ready for our June training and fully cleared. That gives them the whole month of June and July prior to coming into camp.

“They’ll have no restrictions going into camp.”
Perkins tore his ACL in the UCLA game last season, which was six months ago. He finished the 2024 season with 16 tackles in three-plus games. Perkins opened the season with eight tackles against USC in Las Vegas.
Weeks, who broke his fibula in LSU’s win over Baylor in the Texas Bowl in the last game of last season, had successful surgery to repair his ankle back at the beginning of January and it on track to not miss any games for the Tigers this upcoming season.
Guillory’s recovery process was expected to take a little bit longer than both Weeks and Perkins due to his injury being a ruptured Achilles tendon. He went down in LSU’s second game of the season against Nicholls State.
“Guillory has made really good progress the last two, three weeks. He was probably a little bit behind but he’s made some really good progress,” Kelly said. “He’ll be in position to be fully…
