Blue Hens to play first CUSA game at Florida International, face Western Kentucky in first league home game

Big Ten member Indiana has joined the list of future University of Delaware football opponents, UD announced Wednesday.

Delaware will visit the Hoosiers on Sept. 14, 2030, in Bloomington. A previously scheduled Delaware game for that date at Buffalo has been moved to Sept. 7.

It will be the first football matchup between the Blue Hens and the Hoosiers. Indiana is coming off a historic 11-2 season in 2024 in which it reached the College Football Playoff in its first year under coach Curt Cignetti, who previously coached former Delaware CAA rivals Elon and James Madison.

Delaware will move to Conference USA in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision this season.

Since announcing that plan in late November of 2023, Delaware has scheduled a slew of nonconference games against FBS foes, including many against schools from the Power Four conferences – the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC.

Delaware still has two nonconference openings on its 2028 schedule, meaning more future matchups are likely to be finalized soon. Former rival Temple is among schools with which Delaware has spoken. Conference USA schedules are not known past 2025.
