Vols offer scholarship to 2027 safety prospect

Tennessee is looking to bring in recruits for its 2027 football signing class. The Vols offered a scholarship to four-star safety Semaj Stanford on Tuesday.

“Blessed to say I have received an offer from Tennessee,” Stanford announced.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound prospect is from Jenks High School in Jenks, Oklahoma. 247Sports ranks Stanford as the No. 16 safety in 2027 and No. 3 player in Oklahoma.

His first scholarship offer was from Arkansas on Jan. 16, 2024. Additional Power Four offers for the 2027 prospect include Oklahoma State, Boston College, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Arizona, UCF, Oregon, Missouri, Miami, Houston, Nebraska, Iowa State, Baylor, Purdue, Utah, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Arizona State, LSU and TCU.

Tennessee has not received a commitment for its 2027 football recruiting class. The Vols have seven commitments for their 2026 recruiting class: Quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver Tyreek King, tight end Carson Sneed, offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda, wide receiver Tyran Evans, linebacker Braylon Outlaw and defensive lineman C.J. Edwards.
