Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class is already impressive. First-year head coach Mike Elko has already landed 18 commitments, led by five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet and 15 offensive linemen and defenders.
However, with just one wide receiver commit in the class in the form of three-star Tristan Norman, new wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins has his work cut out for him in the coming months, as several 2025 targets remain uncommitted until later next month. Still, one prospect is now off the board.
On Saturday, 2025 4-star WR Taz Williams Jr. shocked us all after choosing the Baylor Bears, who weren’t included in his top 4 program list made up of Michigan, Penn State, SMU, and Texas A&M, as the incoming Red Oak HS senior took official visits to every program this summer, including a final trip to Baylor on June 29.
Last week, 4-star defensive end Kamauryn Morgan committed to the Bears, becoming one of the program’s highest-rated commits/ William’s and Morgan’s noted friendship could have played a small part in his commitment. Still, Baylor’s future offense also needs receiver talent, making this a slam-dunk addition to head coach Dave Aranda’s offense.
On the field, Williams is coming off his productive 2023 junior season, during which he recorded 80 receptions, 1,251 yards, and 14 touchdowns through the air. Heading into the weekend, all three finalists are virtually tied, while Penn State holds a slight advantage.
