Here are a few injury quick hitters as Giants training camp rolls along on Tuesday…
– Edge rusher Brian Burns turned his ankle during Sunday’s practice, and while he was seen having that ankle looked at by trainers on Monday, Burns will be back on the practice field on Tuesday. Head coach Brian Daboll told reporters that the injury is “nothing bad.”
– Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence will be back on the field Tuesday after missing Monday’s practice due to illness, though it’s unclear exactly how much he’ll be able to do.
– Meanwhile, tight end Lawrence Cager, who could have a much bigger role in the offense this season now that Darren Waller has retired, is dealing with a hamstring injury. Cager was seen slamming his helmet on the ground after suffering the injury on Monday, which could indicate something fairly serious.
– Center John Michael Schmitz is dealing with a shoulder injury, and while it is the same shoulder that he injured last season, which caused him to miss three games, Daboll says that the current injury is a separate issue.
