Here’s where LSU football is ranked in preseason Coaches Poll

BATON ROUGE – LSU football opens up the 2024 season where it finished last season in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll.

The Tigers are ranked No. 12 in the ranking that were released by USA TODAY Monday afternoon.

Entering Brian Kelly’s third season in Baton Rouge and despite losing Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Jayden Daniels to the NFL, expectations remain high for LSU this season. The No. 12 ranking reflects where most national pundits have categorized the Tigers heading into the new 12-team College Football Playoff era, a team that’s a borderline playoff team that has potential to safely make the field come season’s end.

Five Southeastern Conference teams are ranked above LSU in the preseason poll, starting with preseason No. 1 Georgia, followed by newcomer to the league Texas at No. 4, Alabama at No. 5, Ole Miss at No. 6 and No. 11 Missouri.
