The national media continues to embrace Matt Rhule’s rebuild of the Nebraska football team. Fox Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt released his Preseason Top 25, and the Huskers made the list.
Nebraska enters the preseason Top 25 ranked No. 23 in the nation. The Huskers are one of seven Big Ten teams to make the rankings.
The Cornhuskers have three opponents on their schedule for 2024 that made the list. Iowa (Nov. 29) was ranked just behind Nebraska at No. 24, USC (Nov. 16) was ranked No. 14, and Ohio State (Oct. 26) was placed at No. 1.
Klatt has previously praised the current state of Nebraska football. He believes that freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola could improve the team’s fortunes in 2024.
“It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that if Dylan Raiola is just a little bit better at quarterback, which I think he can be, this could easily be a team that wins eight or nine football games.”
Nebraska will kick off the 2024 season on August 31 when the Cornhuskers welcome UTEP to Memorial Stadium. The game will start at 2:30 p.m. and can be seen on Fox.
