Finally, No. 10 Florida State’s football season is a mere hours away.
The Seminoles and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets each traveled 4,000 miles to Dublin, Ireland, for Saturday’s Aer Lingus College Football Classic.
Kickoff is noon on ESPN and the game is sold-out (47,000). The forecast calls for considerable cloudiness with occasional rain showers and temps in the mid-60s.
FSU is listed as a 10.5-point favorite.
FSU fans purchased 11,000 tickets to the game and have filled the streets of Dublin. Many are attending the three-hour College GameDay broadcast from College Green near Trinity College.
Kirk Herbstreit draws ire of FSU football fans

As expected, FSU are voicing their displeasure with broadcaster Kirk Herbstreit with boos and creative signage. Herbstreit has felt the wrath of FSU faithful on social media since he initially took his stance on the Seminoles being left out of the College Football Playoff last season despite winning the ACC Championship and finishing the regular season 13-0.
“The crowd is giving Herbie grief,” said David Ponder, a former Seminole player and father of former FSU quarterback Christian Ponder who traveled to Dublin with wife Christine. “Fans are booing, drowning him out.”
‘Dublin is packed with Nole fans’
FSU fans have traveled to Dublin, Ireland, for the Seminoles’ opener vs. Georgia Tech.
Needless to say, there’s plenty of excitement surrounding the game as FSU fans get their first chance to see the new look Seminoles. And it starts at quarterback, where former Clemson and Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei takes over.
“Dublin is packed with Nole fans,” said FSU season-ticket holder and Tallahassee resident Mike Harrison, whose travel party of eight arrived in Ireland earlier in the week.
