HS FOOTBALL: Naniewicz, Rosenkrans help Lakeland push past Holy Cross

DUNMORE — Lakeland is building back after a challenging season, and it took another step.

David Naniewicz threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns, Chase Rosenkrans caught six passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns, and the Chiefs got a spark from an energetic freshman class in a 21-3 battle with Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon at Monsignor Crotti Field at St. Anthony’s Memorial Playground.

Dylan Loomis, a freshman, gave the Lakeland defense a jolt with five tackles in the second half. Junior Gavin Roberts and freshman Jackson Pochas each had an interception for the Chiefs.

“I just wanted to get the energy up coming out of the locker room,” Loomis said. “I tried to make some plays. This was an all-around team effort.”

Lakeland responded to Farrell’s field goal with an 11-play, 60-yard drive. Naniewicz found Rosenkrans on back-to-back plays for the final 23 yards and a 7-0…
