Westlake vs. Atascocita on NFHS Network: Watch OU commit play Texas high school football

Two top-10 Texas high school football programs will meet Thursday night and fans across the country can watch it live.

Westlake, the No. 1 team in our preseason countdown, is taking on Humble Atascocita, a Houston-area power, in a premier Friday night showdown.

The Chaparrals are 2-0 after a strong performance over fellow Class 6A contender Prosper to open the season and a runaway 63-7 win over Lake Belton last week. MaxPreps has Westlake has it’s No. 8 team in Texas and No. 29 in the nation.

Humble Atascocita is the No. 9 team in the state, per MaxPreps, and No. 57 in the country. The Eagles beat Lamar by 28 to begin the year then trounced Katy 41-24 in Week 2.

Atascocita has several Division I prospects so fans of Big Ten football, SEC football and more may want to tune into the game at 7 p.m. For example, junior running back Cardae Mack is being recruited by Texas A&M, USC and host of other Power Four programs. The game can be watched live or on demand on the NFHS Network.

Westlake players have committed to Duke and Air Force, such as Elliott Schaper and Connor Vasek.
