Alabama football home underdogs for first time since 2007 as Crimson Tide host Georgia

One of the most anticipated matchups of the college football season is here, with Alabama football hosting No. 1 Georgia (3-0, 1-0 SEC) in a battle between giants.

Most would assume the No. 4 Crimson Tide (3-0, 0-0) have the edge with the game being in Tuscaloosa, however, they find themselves in unfamiliar territory. Alabama will be a home underdog for the first time since 2007, as Georgia is currently favored to win the game, according to BetMGM.

Alabama football home underdog

Alabama football is a home underdog on Saturday for the first time since 2007, which was Saban’s first season with the Crimson Tide.

Georgia is favored to win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa, although it’s predicted to be a close game.

The last time Alabama was a home underdog went in its favor, however, as Saban and Alabama earned their marquee win of the season when the Crimson Tide upset LSU 41-34 at home. Quarterback John Parker Wilson was an inefficient 14 of 40 passing, but threw for 234 yards with three touchdowns to an interception.

Alabama forced three Matt Flynn interceptions which was the difference in the game, as Flynn threw for 353 yards with three touchdowns.

LSU was a 6.5-point favorite that night, according to Bet Labs.
