CLEMSON — Clemson football wide receiver Antonio Williams exited Saturday’s game against Stanford with an injury in the third quarter.
The injury occurred during the Tigers’ opening drive in the second half. Williams went into the medical tent for a few minutes, exited and caught passes without his helmet on. Then, he went on the stationary cycle and did not return on Clemson’s following drive.
Williams entered Saturday’s game with 12 receptions for a team-leading 159 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He has started for Clemson in every game this season. He is the third Tigers wide receiver out, joining Troy Stellato and Adam Randall.
With Williams out, wide receivers Cole Turner and Tyler Brown will fill his position. Turner replaced Williams on punt return too.
Clemson (2-1, 1-0 ACC) leads Stanford (2-1, 1-0) 20-7 in the third quarter at Memorial Stadium.
