UNC football vs Florida State: Scouting report, prediction for ACC game

North Carolina football will try to reverse its fortune against Florida State on Saturday (3:30 p.m., ACC Network) at Doak Campbell Stadium.

The Tar Heels (4-4, 1-3 ACC) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 27-point rout of Virginia. Now, UNC will try to knock off the Seminoles (1-7, 1-6), who have lost four in a row.

FSU has won 17 of its 21 games against the Heels, including an 8-2-1 record in Tallahassee. But the programs have split the last four meetings in the series.

That success should continue against FSU, which is 81st in total defense, including 105th in rushing defense.

Mack Brown’s record vs FSU

Florida State is 8-0 in November the last two seasons and UNC coach Mack Brown has never beaten the Seminoles. Brown has an 0-8 record against FSU, including six games from 1992-97 during his first stint in Chapel Hill. Something’s gotta give Saturday. Either FSU will end its recent…
