Purdue football celebrates senior day on Saturday. Which players will go through ceremony?

WEST LAFAYETTE − With Purdue football’s final two games on the road at Michigan State and Indiana, the Boilermakers celebrate senior day Saturday against Penn State.

Seventeen players will participate in senior day.

Participating doesn’t necessarily mean they are playing their final home game.

Anyone who is a senior academically and expected to complete their degree has the option to go through senior day ceremonies.

The following players will participate in Purdue’s senior day festivities prior to Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Ross-Ade Stadium:

Cole Brevard, defensive lineman; Hudson Card, quarterback; Jayden Dixon-Veal, receiver; Ben Furtney, kicker; Christian Gelov, quarterback; Jalen Grant, offensive lineman; Luke Griffin, offensive lineman; Gus Hartwig, center; Kydran Jenkins, linebacker; Yanni Karlaftis, linebacker; Damarjhe Lewis, defensive lineman; Reggie Love III, running back; Marcus Mbow, offensive lineman; Jireh Ojata, rush end; Aaron Roberts, offensive lineman; Andrew Sowinksi, receiver; Corey Stewart, offensive lineman.

“Words can’t describe the amount of admiration I have for this group,” Purdue coach Ryan Walters said. “They either chose to be here and stay, or believed in what we’re doing as a program to be added to this class. This season has not gone the way any of us has envisioned or wanted it to, but regardless of the outcomes on Saturday, all of those guys to a man continue to show up and put in the work, prepare the right way and then go compete and play on hard on Saturdays.”
