Can you taste it> We are into that part of the college football season where the rankings matter. No, not the traditional polls, but the CFP Rankings. We’ve now seen three sets of rankings from the College Football Playoff Committee, with the latest revealed on Tuesday, and there are definitely some discussion points and controversy to be had. I mean, anytime so many SEC teams are teetering on the edge of playoff extinction, it makes for heated fodder.
One thing I’ll give credit to the CFP Committee on, is the fact that it does face the music after the rankings and have committee chair, Warde Manuel, go out on ESPN to answer questions, and then there is a conference call with a larger media throng to also discuss what went into making the sausage.
We are a part of those and like to keep you up to speed on what was discussed and the reaction from the committee and we’ve got the same here after the third reveal of the 2024 CFP Rankings that included the usual suspects of Oregon, Ohio State, Texas, Penn State, Georgia, Notre Dame, and others near the top.
