Georgia wide receiver C.J. Smith (18) warms up before the start of a NCAA college football game against Kentucky in Athens, Ga., on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023.
Ex-Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver C.J. Smith is set to visit the South Florida Bulls on Jan. 6, according to Matt Zenitz on CBS Sports/247 Sports. Smith, who transferred to Purdue in for the 2024 college football season is in the portal for a second time in his career.
Smith was a four-star recruit in 2022 when he signed with the Bulldogs. Smith played two seasons in Georgia as a depth receiver before transferring to Purdue last year.
In Purdue, he was also used as a depth receiver. With Purdue, Smith caught six passes for 69 yards in three games. He had more production as a Georgia Bulldog, with six catches for 116 yards and a carry for four yards.
As a result, he and fellow former Bulldog on the Boilmakers, Nyland Green, entered the transfer portal. No team has a public visit set with Green, but if a coincidence happens again, Green could be getting an invite from USF to visit again.
Georgia still hasn’t added a player from the transfer portal. The transfer portal closes for players on teams that did not make bowl games soon.
