WEST LAFAYETTE − The best collegiate offensive lineman north of the border is now a part of Purdue football.
Giordano Vaccaro earned the 2024 JP Metras Award, given to the top U Sports (Canadian equivalent to the NCAA) offensive lineman.
Vaccaro will join the Boilermakers as a transfer from the University of Manitoba.
The Winnipeg native was a three-year starter at Manitoba, playing left tackle as a freshman and left guard each of the past two seasons in which Vaccaro was named a U Sports All-Canadian.
As a freshman at Manitoba, Vaccaro started on the same offensive line as his brother after committing from Clearwater Academy in Florida. Vaccaro went to Clearwater after his senior season at St. Paul’s High School in Canada was canceled due to COVID.
